Prenatal yoga helps women (both first-time mothers and women who have birthed before) prepare for labor and a conscious birth experience by bringing awareness and fearlessness through mediation, strengthening their bodies and increasing their sense of peace and harmony within.
Group classes and private sessions include a balance of recommended poses both standing, sitting, and reclining; breathing and pelvic floor exercises; and a guided relaxation or meditative rest period. Movements and asanas strengthen and tone the muscles and organs. An emphasis is placed on soothing practices. Visualizations, affirmations and relaxation practices with the baby are also introduced.
